The National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic (NSP), which is the responsibility of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sports of the Slovak Republic, is its author and funder. It helps students and Ph.D. candidates, university teachers, researchers, and artists to mobility in terms of scholarships for higher education at institutions and organizations in Slovakia.

Eligibility Criteria
For all Interested worthy candidates willing to take advantage of next year’s National Scholarship Program in the Slovak Republic, they have to meet the below criterion. We look for applicants from the International (all nationalities including those other than Slovakia). A total of three categories are for the National Scholarship Program 2024 that can be availed by the students in the following way.
Students Who Are
- University students living in countries outside Slovakia.
- The next level of university students (master’s candidates), on the contrary,
- are candidates with at least 2.5 years of completed studies in the same program, which they have started at the same time when applying for the specified degree;
Ph.D. students
The students of Ph.D. as well as those Slovak citizens, who to pursue their higher education or scientific training are registered with a public, private, or state university or research institution in Slovakia that carries out a doctoral study program 2 (e.g. the Slovak Academy of Sciences) and who want to benefit from academic mobility 1 to study/conduct research/artistic stay in Slovakia.
Universities’ teaching staff, researchers, and artists from all over the world
who are offered a teaching/research/artistic visit to Slovakia by an institution with the certificate of eligibility to carry out research and development and who is not a business company and the seat of which is in Slovakia.
Duration of National Scholarship Programme 2024
The National Scholarship Program of the Republic of Slovakia 2024, supports international students to exchange their skills and knowledge at higher learning institutions in Slovakia. Details for all types of the above are provided below.
- Duration of a scholarship stay (students): 1 – 2 full semesters fall to 4 – 5 or 9 – 10 months, or 1 – 3 trimesters is all right provided that the academic year is divided into trimesters (i.e. 3 – 4 or 6 – 7 or 9 – 10 months).
- Duration of a scholarship stay (Ph.D. students): 1 – 10 months in university
- Duration of a scholarship stay (university teachers, researchers, or artists): 1 – 10 months
Benefits
The benefit of this scholarship program is that your fees and other expenses are covered.
- Higher level of education for 620 EUR
- Ph.D. students for 1025,50 EUR
- Researches and assistants: It can be with or without a degree. You must have experience of 4 years or less. You can work as a teacher/researcher/artist for 1025,50 EUR
- PhD degree (or equivalent). You must have 10 years experience, especially as a university teacher/researcher/artist for 1 370 EUR
